We are on day thirteen and most children are remembering to turn in their folders in the morning and to pack them up each day. It's my hope that you will review the papers in the folder with your child and then keep the papers at home. It's great to see that many of you are using the Engage NY math homework pack for the math homework, but please don't send it to school in the folder. Kudos to your children and to you for a smooth start, and thank you for your support!
I've sent a book home with some students (Don't worry if your child hasn't received one). Please have them read it and return it daily and you will receive a new book to support your child's reading.
Word wall words are important for all children to know and be able to read and spell as they are some of the most frequently used words. We will be adding words to the word wall throughout the year. We review these words daily and if your child cannot read all of the words, I encourage you to make flashcards or a personal word wall to support them. If your child already can read the words, they can work on learning the spelling.
