Celebrate the rain and enjoy your three day weekends this week and next! We're looking forward to our valentine exchange this Friday. We will continue practicing expository writing the next few weeks writing about special Americans and other topics. We started an art program last week with Mrs. Robinson. Check out the art in our room and ask your child about the Caves at Lascaux.
Thanks to Victoria Haller my blog will be up and running on the RDM website, until then you can go to http://room5clouse.blogspot. com
We have a field trip coming up on Friday, March 21. Set that date and please make sure you have your Tb test and fingerprints on file with the district if you would like to drive. Hopefully this will give you ample time.
Cold season is upon us and I'm down to the last box of my Kleenex stockpile from last year. I would appreciate boxes of tissues as the ones the district supplies us with are rough on the tender first graders noses. Any antibacterials, hand sanitizers... are also welcome. On a less healthy note:) I'm also getting down to the last of my large bag of gummi bears and would love another bag.
If you would like to order books, please check out the following website and submit an on-line order using the code H2TNH: https://clubs2.scholastic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/LogonForm
This past week we finished all of the phonograms and word wall words.
Phonograms: wr, ph, gh (g, f and sometimes silent) dge (the three letter j after one short vowel), ie (ē, ī, but it says "ie")
