Language Arts: We are learning about nouns and verbs, and contractions and possessives. We are also working hard at learning how to answer questions using complete sentences both orally and in writing. Reinforcing this skill at home would be beneficial for your child.

Phonograms: Now that I have taught all of the letter sounds and how to write them correctly, we will move into phonograms. Helping your child remember what sounds combinations of letters make will support their reading and writing. This week we will learn the sounds of sh & th.

Math: We will continue to work on subtraction problem/stories.

Science: We have been observing our garden and will soon be able to make a salad! Also we will be observing seeds and will make bean soup this Thursday. For the soup we need: 32 oz of broth, 1 package of mixed beans with the flavor pack included, garlic, onion, celery & carrots (not cut) and smoked ham hocks (Deluxe has flavorful hamhocks). Please let me know if you are able to provide any of these items.

Star of the Week: Please check to see when your child will be the star. You can find the information on my blog on the Rio del Mar website.

We will not be going to the library this week due to our field trip to the Jr. High, therefore if your child would like to keep their book another week, feel free.
