We had our first Writing Workshop celebration. First, the children read to each other and then they had the opportunity to read to their fifth grade reading buddy class later in the day. Today we started mapping another Small Moment story, focusing on the "Big Thing that Happened" (BTH). Ask your child about their new story and about the BTH.

The Halloween Parade is on Monday 10:35-10:50. Thanks to our wonderful parents for organizing our party and we hope to see you from 11:25-12:25.

Thanks to Julia's parents for purchasing six cordless mice for my Acer notebooks so that we can incorporate them into our math time. Next Friday, November 4, I'm hoping to have parent support to work one-on-one with students so that they will be able to use the notebooks independently. If you are able to come in on Friday when school starts and stay until 9:10, that would be great, just let me knos. We have a morning assembly, so we won't be in class until about 8:10, but that will give you a little bit of time to get acquainted with the notebooks and the cordless mice. We will also be harvesting and cooking chard from our garden that day, so it will be a fun day in Room 5.
