We have started module 3 in math. I sent home the homework pack at the beginning of the week, but I would also encourage you to continue to support your child to understand strategies of adding and subtracting within 20. Our next module builds upon module 2's work on place value and focusing on adding and subtracting within 40.

We had quite a bit a fun with science learning about the sun and how time affected our shadows.

We have learned about Martin Luther King and why he was such an important American. Your children should be able to tell you many facts about him. Continuing with special Americans, we will be learning about Rosa Parks next week and writing about her.

Last week we had two days of teacher workshops. We had a motivational presentation on Growth Mindsets that inspired the staff.
