This week was a week of growth for so many students! The behaviors are changing, children are making better choices and a lot of great learning is happening. Thanks for the conversations you have been having with your children to help with their behaviors.
I would like to make ants on a log on Tuesday, Sept. 22. If you are able to send in a jar of peanut butter, celery sticks, or mini chocolate chips let me know. Cc'ing everyone would help avoid duplicates. Our ant experiment had surprising results! Ask your child what happened. Thanks to those of you who sent in peanut butter and jelly.
We continue to work on knowing math facts to 10 and found ways to make 8, 9 and 10 in our math journals. On Monday we will start up with Lesson 24.
We have been focused on recognizing the short, long and two dotted vowel sounds. Ask your child which vowel sounds they remember.

Sept 22: Last day to order Scholastic books. If you would like to order books, please do so before the due date.
Oct. 3- No school for students. Teachers will be in meetings.

We could combine the two into one volunteer job, but have help from parents who are in our room and/or on campus with the children. The volunteer wouldn't need to come to the class to take photos, but would rely on parents who are at school to send photos to them. The yearbook/photographer parent would have a library of photos from which to choose when it is time to put the yearbook page together. If you volunteer and were willing to set up a classroom Shutterfly account, all of the parents would have access to the photos.
