Well, we are in our final stretch of school. Your children have already grown so much and are continuing their learning journey through first grade. We are starting to read and learn about habitats with a focus on the forest, the rain forest, desert and ocean. They will follow up their learning with an informational piece of writing for each habitat.

We are finishing Module 5, geometry and will start module 6 next week. I sent home a paper from TenMarks, an educational math program. It has your child's username and password. I encourage you to have your child try it out and use it to help practice and advance them in their math skills. Continue to support your child with Engage New York as you see needed.

Before break I sent home some Scholastic book order forms. I'd like to close the order on Friday, April 15, so if you have intentions to order, please do so ASAP. Although I prefer online ordering, feel free to send in an order if you prefer. If you've lost the forms or would like to select books by title, you may order any books from the Scholastic website. https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=scholastic%20book%20clubs
Use my class activation code: H2TNH.

Great news! Many of you are familiar with MOD (The Museum of Discovery) in the Capitola Mall. They will be coming into our first grade classrooms each week until the end of school. We will spend the first four weeks learning about simple machines through Legos.
