Please welcome Stella Giraldo and her family to our class. She is joining us from Mrs. Sandman’s class and I’m very excited that she will be with us this year.
Last year our staff decided to focus on writing for the year 2016-17. This summer we spent two professional development days with presenters learning about Writing Workshop (WW). Yesterday we spent time during the day with the WW presenters, and then continued our professional development until 6:00 in the evening. Today we will continue our training. I’m very excited to begin our new adventure with this new writing program.
That said, we were told by the presenters that we needed the following items to start up WW. (I’ve indicated the necessary items with *** and the other items are desired, but not necessary).

Field Trip to SunRidge Farms on September 23.
We now have all of our driver information sent in to the district. Thanks to all of the parents who diligently got their paperwork into the office and to Deb Dorney and our office staff who were super supportive with the field trip changes that the district put into place. Please let the office know how much they are appreciated! The following parents will be driving on the field trip: Suraya Parsons, Adele Lauderbach, Dawn Nemec, Jen Maguire, Jen Greene, Carie Sigur & Liz Ricks. Please make sure your child (chaperones too) wear long pants, closed toed shoes, & no jewelry (except wedding bands without stones).
Reminders:
- Scholastic book orders are due on today. Besides ordering from the book order I sent home, you are able to order any book from the website.
- Picture day is on Friday.
- Return the library books by Friday.
